Job Description

Strategic Consent Lead
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for cohesion of Consent Strategy across Generation and TransmissionDCOs and ensuring alignment of community stakeholder engagement strategy with Consent Strategy, focussing on Transmission Assets DCO until the end of 2025 at least
  • Responsible for identification of project consent risk including cross functional risk between commercial development, consenting and stakeholder functions
  • Responsible for ensure close cooperation between Consenting and Engineering team as required to maintain Project Design Envelope flexibility and manage consent risk
  • Responsible for driving cohesion between consent, commercial development andstakeholder teams including scheduling of pre-construction activities
  • Responsible for ensuring cohesion between the Examination and Pre Construction Discharge teams including consistency of approach to scheduling and budgets
  • Responsible for ensuring progress of pre-commencement activities to facilitate project programme
  • Support decision making during to develop recommendations for Project/Programme Directors
  • Support upcoming Ground Investigation Survey works from a Consenting point of view, incl. risk management and advice to the Engineering workstream
  • Work closely with different teams, Lead Consent Managers to ensure continuity of approach and management of interfaces between EIA topics

 
 
Key Tasks

  • Define and manage risk across the respective project. Clear and proactivecommunication of portfolio risk to the project directors and Consenting work stream to manage issues across projects.
  • Prioritise risks for escalation to Project and Programme Directors in conjunction with Consenting Workstream
  • Internal Reporting on Transmission Examination and milestones and inputs to Board and Shareholder updates as required
  • Oversee the development of positions on key consenting topics and proactively ensure alignment of key messages
  • Define the direction of the pre-construction discharge team and delivery required in parallel with pre-consent work
  • Drive joined up approach to external stakeholder and community engagement
  • Provide expert advice on advocacy requirements in respect of key project risks
  • Drive delivery of key project documents, decision papers, gate documents and procurement to ensure a uniform approach across project
