Job Description
The critical role of suppliers in the leveraging and realisation of value to Heathrow Airport Limited cannot be understated. It is a fundamental element to our success.
Heathrow is committed to building a UK-wide supplier base, including existing partners, new suppliers, and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). The Procurement Function\’s Portfolio and Supplier Management (PSM) Team ensures suppliers are well-informed throughout the procurement lifecycle to maximise post-contract value and support Heathrow as a best practice partner.
Within PSM, the SME Engagement Team focuses on engaging SMEs and expanding their role in Heathrow\’s supply chain. This includes leading engagement events like the Heathrow Business Summit and Heathrow Lift Off, delivering SME Engagement workstreams like the SME Marketplace, and collaborating with external stakeholders such as Chambers of Commerce and Trade Associations. The team also works with internal category owners to remove barriers and create opportunities for SMEs.
Responsibilities
- Assisting the Supply Chain Manager in developing and implementing strategies to maximise SME engagement outcome.
- Leading key SME Engagement initiatives, such as the SME Marketplace, and drive continuous improvement of related processes.
- Liaising with cross functional teams and coordinate strategic market engagement events such as our Lift Off and Business Summit.
- Developing close relationships with external stakeholders to attain their support in SME market engagement through their platforms. In the meantime, identifying and explore collaboration opportunities to share resources.
- Liaising with portfolio support manager and communications team to promote awareness of the SME engagement work and outcome.
Qualifications
- Procurement or supply chain management experience.
- Experience in market engagement or sourcing. Ability to conduct objective analysis of supplier information.
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
- Good analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and communications skills including presentation experience.
- Familiar with the commercial and contract delivery lifecycle including key activities during market engagement, procurement, and delivery.

Working Location
Our Hybrid working approach offers the opportunity for colleagues in some roles to work from home for an average of two days a week, providing the flexibility to work in an agile way whilst ensuring we deliver for the operational needs of Heathrow. Working arrangements vary from team to team and will be confirmed during the recruitment process. You\’ll need to be based in the UK and within a commutable distance to Heathrow.
