About the role
As a Motor Claims Director at Reserv, you will lead a team of claims professionals managing motor claims across diverse accounts. Your expertise in motor claims will drive operational effectiveness, utilizing technology and analytics to improve efficiencies and outcomes. Youβll play a vital role with the team, clients, and customers, ensuring high-quality standards and compliance with regulatory, internal, and contractual SLAs. This role requires exceptional leadership skills and a deep understanding of motor claims, ideally with experience managing complex portfolios of motor claims, including bodily injury, coverage, and litigation.

What we need
- Lead and manage a team of claims professionals handling motor claims across diverse accounts, ensuring quality, consistency, and efficiency.
- Consistently deliver on objectives, overcoming challenges to exceed operational and performance targets.
- Implement and maintain best practices for claims handling, including intake, investigation, evaluation, settlement, and recovery, tailored to the motor claims sector.
- Monitor and analyze claims data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for process improvement specific to motor claims.
- Align team performance with client and customer expectations for the claims process.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex or disputed motor claims, offering strategic direction and resolution.
- Ensure the accuracy and adequacy of claim reserving practices across all motor claims.
- Develop and execute strategies to mitigate fraudulent claims and ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and industry standards.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performance work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development.
- Take ownership of performance management, including attracting, hiring, retaining, and training high-performing claims professionals with expertise in motor claims.
- Collaborate with internal teams, such as Account Management, Compliance, and Claim Operations, to resolve escalated or high-complexity claims issues.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including policyholders, brokers, agents, and legal representatives.
- Prepare and present detailed claims reports, metrics, and analysis to clients, offering expert advice on claims trends, risk mitigation, and overall portfolio management.
Requirements
- Chartered Institute Qualifications, minimum of DIP CII or equivalent (we will consider those working towards it).
- 10+ years in insurance claims management experience, with a preference for motor, bodily injury, or general liability experience.
- 8+ years of management experience, with preference for experience managing remote teams.
- Comfortable with technology and capable of evolving claims systems and processes to drive better efficiencies and outcomes.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality, accuracy, and attention to detail in claims management.
- Strong integrity, ethics, and accountability in handling confidential and sensitive information.
