Outsourcing Manager

We are recruiting for an experienced Outsourcing Manager in our Manchester office who will be dealing predominantly with owner managed businesses and clients in the private wealth and estates sector.

This is a client facing, fast paced role which includes advisory elements and often deals with high-net worth clients.

The work is varied and ranges from typical year end compliance through to ad-hoc advisory and project work, and with a particular focus on delivering outsourcing services. The client base is predominantly limited companies, partnerships and limited liability partnerships, but also with some sole traders, trusts and smaller private charities.

The role is permanent and would suit an ACCA/ACA qualified accountant who is seeking to consolidate their knowledge of accounts and compliance and take it to the next level by building on their advisory, client management and supervisory skills.

You will have responsibility for managing a portfolio of clients that operate in a range of sectors and the role would include (but is not limited to) the following key elements, within agreed deadlines:

• Supervising the preparation of year-end financial statements
• High level reviews of management accounts and VAT returns
• Leading a team on large outsourcing projects
• Financial management
• Work planning and annual timetabling, ensuring that internal timetables are met by junior team
• Taking ownership of ad-hoc advisory projects
• Cross-departmental communication (liaising with tax and audit teams)
• Supervising the coaching and development of qualified staff and trainees
• Building and maintaining client relationships

The Office

Our Manchester office is home to 6 partners and over 100 staff. Our modern, purpose-built office space on John Dalton Street has been designed to provide a working space that is conducive to team collaboration and agile working.

The team is comprised of a variety of departments and specialists who provide a wide range of services both locally and nationally.

The Team

The accounts and outsourcing department have experienced high growth in recent years and offer an exciting variety of work with great development opportunities.

The team currently consists of 20 members of staff of varying levels of experience and responsibility. You will have the opportunity to work closely with clients, working as part of the team alongside the partners, to deliver a high-quality service. Everyone in the team is provided with a high level of training and one to one support in order to help them achieve their personal career objectives

You

• Preferably ACA/ACCA qualified and a number of years’ experience of working in practice.
• Strong numeracy and analytical skills, along with the ability to learn quickly.
• A good knowledge of Excel and Word is essential.
• A good understanding of MTD bookkeeping software packages, such as Xero.
• Understanding of other accounting systems would be helpful but is not an essential requirement.
• Self-motivated and pro-active, with the ability to organise your own workload.
• Display a flexible, professional approach and have the confidence and ability to communicate effectively with managers, partners and clients.
• Natural team player with a positive and enthusiastic attitude and excellent eye for detail.
