With the opportunity to work on existing products which have generated millions in revenue to something new changing the landscape of the insurance world, this is the perfect opportunity for a results driven and growth focussed Senior engineer looking to start an ambitious business.

The Role

We\’re seeking a Lead Frontend Engineer to own the frontend architecture and elevate the B2C user experience across our digital products. This is a high-impact role requiring technical vision, hands-on expertise, and leadership to drive innovation in a rapidly evolving environment.

As part of a cross-functional, agile team, you will shape the frontend roadmap, champion best practices, and foster a culture of engineering excellence. You\’ll lead the migration from a legacy monolith to a modern microfrontend and Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) ecosystem, leveraging React, Next.js, TypeScript, and advanced communication protocols such as GraphQL and gRPC.

What You\’ll Own

Lead the design and implementation of scalable, performant, and maintainable frontend architectures that support diverse driver journeys and complex policy workflows.
Drive innovation by setting standards for UI/UX, accessibility, and frontend engineering practices across the organization.
Mentor, inspire, and grow a high-performing team of engineers through coaching, technical guidance, and fostering collaborative problem-solving.
Partner closely with Product, Design, and Backend teams to translate complex requirements into elegant, user-centric digital experiences.
Advocate for CI/CD best practices, ensuring rapid and safe delivery of features with automated testing, code reviews, and observability.
Influence technical strategy, tooling, and processes to continually raise the engineering bar and accelerate delivery velocity.
Lead efforts in evaluating and integrating AI tools and automation that enhance developer productivity and product innovation.

About You

Extensive commercial experience building complex frontend applications with React and Next.js, with strong proficiency in TypeScript.
Proven track record of architecting scalable frontend systems and migrating legacy codebases to modern frameworks.
Deep understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and a passion for building inclusive user experiences.
Experience working with GraphQL and gRPC APIs in production environments.
Exceptional leadership and communication skills, comfortable mentoring engineers and influencing cross-functional teams.
Strong advocate for engineering best practices, test-driven development, and continuous delivery.
A proactive learner and early adopter of AI-powered tools, keen to experiment and leverage new technologies to boost team performance.
