Associate, Secondaries, Private Equity

Private Equity Department
We deploy capital in areas where we can utilise our comparative advantages, namely, a long investment horizon, global presence, sector expertise, as well as skilled, and experienced teams.
Secondaries
You will invest with leading private equity secondaries sponsors and participate in a wide array of secondaries deals involving the acquisition of private equity fund stakes, and general partners-led transactions.

You will be part of a team that is one of the largest, and most established private capital investors in the world today.
We are looking for a suitable candidate to join our Secondaries team in London as an Associate.
This role is a three-year contract as part of our Associate programme.
What you will do as an Associate?
- Building of excel based models to value operating companies, funds, portfolios and securitized structures
- Support the preparation of deal memos and assist in Investment Committee presentations
- Represent GIC with private equity managers, company management, counterparties and intermediaries during due diligence and monitoring
- Coordinate with other strategy groups (Funds, Direct Investments, Venture, Infrastructure, Real Estate, Public Markets) on investment opportunities
- Maintain market and deal databases
- Assist in deal closing with internal and external legal counsel, back and middle office
What makes you a successful candidate?
- A curious and inquisitive mindset, coupled with a passion for understanding businesses and assessing investment opportunities.
- A strong academic background, with a Bachelor\’s degree being the minimum requirement. Equivalent practical experience is also acceptable.
- Demonstrated success in previous roles.
- Hands-on experience in transactional processes and proficient financial modelling skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Exceptional work ethic and a collaborative and flexible approach to teamwork.
- Experience in deal execution, including negotiation, deal structuring and pricing, due diligence, and legal closing, is a plus.
- We expect the successful applicant will have experience from a leading investment bank or Private Equity Secondaries investor.
