B2B UKI Business Development Specialist – Kit Packing
Job Description Summary
As the Business Development Specialist, you will drive strong and sustainable growth in the non-acute care segments. The primary focus of this role will be in the Kit Packing sector, while also supporting other B2B segments such as Pharmaceutical and Clinical Trials, MedTech, Compounding, and Animal Health.
The growth will be achieved through segment‑specific strategy deployment, robust account planning, and building strong business relationships with key decision‑makers in the kit packing segment.
This is a national role based in the UK. The position offers flexibility regarding location, provided you are comfortable with regular regional travel.
About BD and the MDS Team
BD is one of the largest global medical‑technology companies. The Medication Delivery Solutions (MDS) team offers a wide range of products for injection and infusion therapy, regional anaesthesia, and closed medication management.
Main Responsibilities Will Include
- Strategy deployment and implementation plan for the kit packing segment including business development initiatives
- Prospect, develop, and lead UK kit packing customers to commercialise the full product range of the MDS portfolio
- Increase the turnover of key accounts and develop the number of customers
- Convert key opportunities into BD sales through the BDWoS Process in SFDC
- Lead kit packing pricing strategies in accordance with BD company objectives and goals
- Support and develop plans/programs to ensure long‑term sales growth (multi‑year contract management, commercial partnerships)
- Gather and share market knowledge across the B2B team
- Ensure B2B demand planning files are filled from customer forecasts on a monthly basis
- Work closely with acute care regional sales managers to understand opportunities in Hospital Kit/NHS tenders and develop co‑planning where appropriate
- Organise and implement bi‑annual business reviews with key kit packer accounts, setting and measuring joint KPIs
- Play a key role in the B2B team to fulfil customer needs and develop robust business relationships
- Organise BD resources to meet customer needs and projects in terms of supply, quality, regulatory, and potential product development
- Communicate and keep relevant internal partners updated on activities and developments within the country market, including SFDC usage and other reporting elements
- Work actively with business leaders of other BD BUs to identify potential common interests and routes to markets, defining cross‑business responsibilities, investments, and objectives
- Participate in the development and implementation of the sales plan, including forecasting territory sales and activity objectives
- Attend industry exhibitions as appropriate
- Maintain up‑to‑date and accurate records within the database for clients (active and targeted) within the allocated territory
About You
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) ideally in the medical sector
- Proven experience in Medical Device sales, ideally in a B2B activity, selling value‑added products in a competitive environment that requires significant follow‑up in service, supply, and quality
- Experience in customer‑facing/sales within medical devices and a proven record in new business development
- Skilled in forecasting and budgeting, demonstrating a strong commercial approach and financial competence to drive strategic decision‑making
- Strong analytical and synthesising capacity, ensuring relevant inputs from relevant sources within the business
- Excellent negotiation skills, decisive yet open to suggestion and dialogue, able to evolve effectively in a complex, multicultural, and highly matrixed organisation
Target salary range for the role: ÂŁ40,000 to ÂŁ60,000 + benefits + company car
