Your Impact
You will deliver business transformation projects to the public sector on organizational development, process optimization, service redesign, and governance & process management.
In this role, you will work on challenging projects and identify value-creation opportunities for our clients. With your delivery focus and expertise, you will support our clients by ensuring their organizations achieve and sustain strategic objectives. You will help deliver innovative solutions in the fields of new services, overall service redesign, organizational structure, governance, process management and workforce, and capability building; resulting in meaningful and enduring change.
With your implementation expertise, you will support our clients in translating strategic objectives into practical implementation initiatives and goals. You will also be responsible for project planning, delivery and implementation of organizational change, which you will tackle with the appropriate management tools and solutions.
You will be based in our London office as part of our Social, Healthcare and Public Entities (SHaPE) practice. You’ll join a team passionate about impact, who focus on operational project management with strong execution skills and an understanding of the specific demands of each organization.
You will also be part of our new Delivery Assurance Transformation & Delivery Public Sector practices, leading organizations to execute business transformation programs in a time of accelerated business change. You will work within the Public and Social Care practice that owns delivery and implementation after the initial set-up based on Prince 2 and Agile frameworks. You will work in an efficient, and highly engaging method.
You will work closely with senior management and specialist departments of our public, social and healthcare sector clients to provide impactful solutions. We measure our success on the impact we deliver for our clients and their ability to sustain the new benefits and changes once we have left. Joint achievement of our goals is the measure of our success in the industry-independent implementation of transformation projects for industrial and service companies.
As individuals with access to government assets, successful candidates would need to apply for Security Check (SC) clearance through McKinsey once they join. Candidates should therefore confirm if they hold or have previously held a UK government security clearance (SC, DV or other) and if not, they must be willing to apply for the right level of clearance.
Your Qualifications and Skills

  • University degree in business, economics or engineering with a strong record of academic achievement
  • 2+ years professional experience on delivery and implementing digital transformation projects in the public sector, delivering business change and business transformation projects
  • Solid understanding and some demonstrated knowledge of project management delivery using related tools and methods including MS Project, Prince 2, Agile or similar
  • Highly analytical individual
  • Excellent conceptual problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit, dedication, creativity and a passion for overcoming any challenge to get things done
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to adapt your style of communication to suit a wide range of stakeholders
