NHS Fixed Term Locum Consultant Obstetrician – Midlands
NHS UNIVERSITY TEACHING HOSPITAL – NHS FIXED TERM LOCUM CONSULTANT OBSTETRICIAN VACANCY – MIDLANDS
We are recruiting an NHS Fixed Term Locum Consultant for one of the largest University Teaching Hospitals in the NHS.
The role includes routine and emergency obstetrics, with on-call duties (non-resident on-call 1 in 8). Key responsibilities include providing consultant labour suite cover, elective caesarean sections, ward rounds, assessment unit cover, and antenatal clinics.
The department comprises 44 consultants: 18 obstetricians, 18 gynaecologists, and 8 combined obstetrician and gynaecologists. Our labour suite is associated with a level 3 Neonatal Unit, dedicated obstetric anaesthetic service, and inpatient and outpatient obstetric services. There is a 3-tier junior doctor 24-hour presence, a regional fetal medicine centre, and a dedicated maternity medicine service. The department has a strong research focus, participating in national and international clinical trials.
Additional information includes:
- Onsite obstetric ultrasound provided by the radiology team
- Consultants lead specialist scan clinics, including fetal growth surveillance and preterm birth
- Gynaecology services include urogynaecology, reproductive medicine, benign and emergency gynaecology, and gynaecological oncology
