Job Description
My client, a successful and growing independent recruitment agency based in Brentwood, is looking to hire an experienced and motivated Business Development Consultant to help drive the next stage of their growth.
With a warm platform, a supportive MD, and a solid operational setup already in place, this is a fantastic opportunity to step into a key role within a profitable and ambitious small business.
About the Business
- Led by a hands-on MD with a strong background in delivery and resourcing
- Currently a close-knit team of four:
- An admin/support professional handling compliance and database upkeep
- They have a competent blue collar resourcer
- Full support behind the scenes with accounts and operations
- 100+ temps out at any one time
As Business Development Consultant, you’ll be responsible for:
- Winning new clients across the blue-collar/industrial/temp space
- Taking ownership of the full 360 recruitment cycle where needed, or passing to the resourcing team
- Building strong, consultative relationships with clients
- Developing and expanding accounts over time
- Working closely with MD and the team to shape growth strategy
This is a business development-focused role with full support from a delivery team, meaning you can focus on what you do best — building relationships and generating business.
The Perks
- Uncapped commission scheme
- Once you clear a reasonable threshold, 100% of the GP/margin on your clients goes towards your billing figures — even when filled by the resourcing team
- Autonomy and trust – no red tape or micromanagement
- Work directly with a supportive MD who knows the industry
- Join a profitable business with real growth potential and a warm platform to build from
What We’re Looking For
- A proven background in recruitment (BD, 360, or temp/industrial experience is ideal)
- Comfortable in a client-facing, sales-focused role
- Strong understanding of the temporary/contract market
- Motivated, self-starting, and ready to make an impact in a small business
- Based in or near Brentwood (hybrid/flexible working can be discussed)
