The Platform Specialist Solution Engineer / Technical architect is aligned to Salesforce’s Public Sector and Education business unit. We work with organisations with a diverse set of demands and issues, which means we need to operate quickly and with agility.
This is a highly technical and customer-facing role with most of its impact focused on the success of our Public Sector and Education customers. We look for technical professionals from a variety of backgrounds who are as comfortable explaining enterprise architectures to non technical people, C-level executives as well as the Technical Architects of public and education institutions.
Our Platform Specialist SEs specifically \”own\” the conversation on Salesforce\’s application development on the platform, integration, data management, AI Agentforce offering, and how our various cloud offerings flow together. We are knowledgeable about platform security and service delivery through the Trusted Services offering on the Salesforce Platform, Including the AI Trust Layer, and liaise closely with our security specialists around the Data Residency and other compliance topics close to our customer requirements.
The role of a Platform Specialist Solution Engineer is to work with our sales teams and customers to:

Understand a customer\’s “As Is” enterprise architecture landscape and/or technical business requirements through technical discovery.

Understand the specific Public sector and Education technology landscape and challenges

Partner with customers to develop a vision for their future on the Salesforce platform and a “To Be” architecture proposal.

Educate customers on various technical aspects of how the Salesforce platform or other technologies integrate and interact with the Salesforce platform, and how Salesforce products can positively impact their business goals

Scale the role through external and internal enablement efforts that you will facilitate to empower customer champions as well as Salesforce Solution engineers to become knowledgeable in the key areas of the Salesforce Platform

Employ the use of approved AI tools to support your role, as well as experiment and bring ideas to the table how AI can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the role.

Lead hands-on technical workshops and enablement sessions on Platform App Development, Agentforce Agents development, Salesforce integration patterns and features ranging from Data integrations, Partner network integrations e.g. AWS or GCP, AI Integrations.

Support Salesforce Labs Global Public Sector Accelerators like Design system Frontend Components, as well as contribute to producing jump start assets for the customers, partners and solution engineers at Salesforce to deliver compelling demos with the latest technology on the platform.,

Have the ability to communicate with other specialists and engage other stakeholders in crafting the solution to ensure the bigger picture has been considered before voicing opinions and presenting POV to the customer

Liaison and co-operation with functional solution engineers, other platform experts and sales across Europe, APAC and in the USA
Comfortable working with clients at all levels- it is just as important to work with the front line as the CIO and CTO
Willing to learn how to configure our technology to build demonstrations that will show off the power of Salesforce\’s platform,
This also includes focus on the cutting edge, pilots and newest Salesforce releases that often require liaising with the Product Managers in order to bring the innovation customer demos delivered by the wider Solutions community.

Minimum Qualifications:
Evidence of strong impact in customer-facing work is near-mandatory, but can come from a variety of places; public sector understanding an advantage.
Previous experience as solution/sales engineer or equivalent, preferably in the CRM space is a plus. Highly desired hands-on experience in implementing Salesforce solutions for customers.
Broad knowledge of the Salesforce solutions is a strong plus (Agentforce, Data Cloud, Service Cloud, Heroku, Own Backup, Education Cloud, Mulesoft, etc.)
Experience with cloud, Saas , Paas, and laaS concepts and technologies Experience with a modern language or related stack. Examples include Java, JavaScript, CSS, C#, .Net, Ruby, Python, PHP, Node, Go, Swift, MEAN stack, LAMP stack.
Past work experience with databases, integrations, coding, and/or other similar software technologies
International travel will be required; you can work from home frequently – you should be located in the UK or Italy.
You need to be fluent in English and French or Italian.
