The objective of this role is to validate the Test coverage and Testing evidence that the upgrades made to DB2, IMS, MQ Subsystems do not impact the application functionality. In addition to the above, the role requires to identify the application regression test cases associated to the below subsystems, hence a deep understanding of the Mainframe systems i.e. DB2, IMS, MQ, COBOL, JCL are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end testing efforts for mainframe applications and APIs.
- Design and implement testing approach, Test plan, and Review Test cases for mainframe systems involving IMS and MQ.
- Collaborate with development, business, and QA teams to understand requirements and ensure test coverage.
- Perform integration testing involving APIs, IMS transactions, and MQ messaging.
- Automate test cases where applicable and manage test data.
- Identify, document, and track defects using tools like JIRA or HP ALM.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and best practices.
Required Skills:
- Strong experience inmainframe testing (COBOL, JCL, DB2).
- Hands-on experience withIMS /CICS andIBM MQ .
- Proficiency inAPI testing using tools likePostman ,SoapUI , orReadyAPI .
- Experience withtest management tools (e.g. JIRA, Xray).
- Familiarity withAgile andDevOps methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
