Where a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check is required for the post, all applicants are required to cover the cost of the check. Responsiblefor the accurate picking of orders for Locations / HUBs &

departmentcollecting, sorting of mail, packages and stores for all

designatedlocations, including drugs and medicines. When

appropriateusing handheld scanning devices, keeping the devices safe and always charged.

Dutieswill be divided between the Central Distribution Stores and on the road,deliveries as required by the Trust.

Responsiblefor the receipt / storage / issue of all stores into the Central DistributionCentre (including entering onto appropriate databases and the correct use of ahand-held scanner or computer system).

Withinthe scope of the persons training, duties will include assisting any member ofstaff that requires assistance, using the stock control systems and others toensure the smooth operation of the Trust, both within main stores and at anyother location.

Responsiblefor the collection and delivery of stores, equipment, drugs, mail fromdesignated locations throughout the Trusts area.

Responsiblefor the safe collection and delivery of Trust assets and movement around theTrust.

Responsiblefor the safe collection and delivery of items of uniform.

Responsiblefor the safe collection and delivery of stores to various locations and puttingthem away (including medicines). This may be to both an internal customer ofthe Trust or external customer. You are required to understand and followappropriate regulation when handling and transporting of any medicine (in linewith the Trusts SOPs and the MHRA regulations). You are required to maintainyour professional qualification in relation to handling medicines using anapproved supplier ( Buttercups Certificate in medicines management forAmbulance Services or higher)

Responsiblefor identifying items needed to run a station store so that an effectiveaccident and emergency service can be maintained to a recognised and approvedlist.

Responsiblefor the safe transportation and / or storage of furniture, office equipment,desks, filing cabinets, chairs, fridges, cookers, etc.

Responsiblefor the driver maintenance of vehicle, check of lubricants, coolants,lights, indicators, brakes, windscreen wipers / washers, horn, tyres,refuelling, etc. Reporting any faults as necessary.

Responsiblefor the maintenance of the interior and exterior of the vehicle in a cleancondition, ensuring the serviceability of vehicle equipment.

Requiredto maintain a valid driving licence with less than 6 points.

Requiredto undertake manual handing training annually using appropriate equipment forwhich you have been trained.

Requiredto undertake manual handling tasks manually or using appropriate equipment vehicle manual lifting aids, sack trucks, fork lift truck, etc. you arerequired to maintain an appropriate forklift driving licence.

Requiredto adhere to a pre-arranged route programme and utilise the most cost effectiveand economical routes to provide a cost-effective service across the Trustarea.

Responsiblefor the security of the vehicle and or stores and its contents at all times.

Requiredto undertake any training as deemed necessary for the fulfilment of the dutiesof this post.

Workin accordance with all Trust policies and procedures, necessary to ensure thatthe service complies with the requirements of the Quality Management Systems,Health & Safety at Work Policy and Procedures within the Code of Practiceand GDPR.

Willingto work flexibly, providing cover during periods of leave / sickness, with theability to respond to urgent requests for out of hours needs of the service.

Responsiblefor delivery and collection of drugs / fluids and maintaining a stock controlwithin the Trusts dispensary, this include appropriately

handlingand moving of all drugs / fluids and medications including Controlled Drugs inline with approved training package supplied by an external provider.

Requiredto communicate with clinical staff regarding sensitive information surround themovement and transport of stock.

Responsiblefor engaging and conversing with suppliers and delivery agents about shortages,stock orders and requests for additional information.

Responsiblefor contacting suppliers and placing orders both on the Trusts recognisedsystems and the suppliers web page, this will include ensuring that any late ormissing items of any stock / none stock are ordered and delivered in a timelymanner as agreed by the Trust. The employee will also be responsible forinforming a line manager the earliest opportunity of any discrepancy or nonedelivery and will be required to provide information about what actions havebeen taken to rectify the issue.

Responsiblefor engaging with internal customers about the necessity for specific items andwill be involved in pacifying these situations.

Requiredto place internal stock orders and manage high risk stock in local stock rooms.

Requiredto display diplomacy and tact to negotiate with external customers about stickordering and rotation.

Willpractice effective time management and organisational skills to make accuratejudgments relating to traffic and delivery routes. The employee will berequired to use both electronic and manual maps to assist with this.

Requiredto use external equipment that requires an external certificate and licence,including fork lift driving qualification with reach

Requiredto undertake training to assist with the use of lifting aids, stock controlsoftware and PDAs.

Responsiblefor the safe and effective transportation of patient records and high valueequipment.

Responsiblefor assisting in the training of new staff both at stations and in thedepartment, surrounding the placement of stock orders and the correctcompletion of paperwork.

Requiredto maintain personal qualifications and training records and will be requiredto complete all relevant workbooks.

Responsiblefor completing driver checks and conducting minor maintenance on vehicles,whilst recording the evidence for this.

Additionally,records must also be kept relating to the forklift truck and controlled drugs.

Requiredto conduct audits of equipment, stores and stocks, controller and POMS drugsand other medical equipment essential for delivering patient care.

Requiredto use personal initiative when not under direct supervision and will berequired to interpret trust police and procedures to ensure that the trustoperates safely and effectively

Requiredto manually and repetitively lift and carry items which requires mental effort.Occasionally, it will be required to lift and manage large and heavy items toensure that the operational requirements of the Trust are maintained.

Responsiblefor ensuring personal safety and the safety of others by being able toconcentrate for long periods of time using computers, delicate equipment, drugsand machinery. This includes the use of forklift trucks and day to day drivingactivity.

Requiredto operate VDU equipment and carry pungent chemicals.

Willingto work in vehicles with minimal control over internal cab temperature andwilling to work in environments with fluctuating temperatures.

Responsiblefor analysing and interpreting stock control data in order to decide on therelevant course of action, to ensure continue appropriate stock of resources.

Required to act autonomously when deciding on theappropriate stock supplier, whilst taking into account a number of conflictingpriorities

Applicants must hold a Pharmacy Technician qualification (certificate in Ambulance Pharmacy Technician) equivalent to NVQ Level 3 as well as holding a current Forklift Driving Licence along with experience of working within a similar stores / driving role., * Handling and delivery of goods.

  • Basic driver vehicle maintenance carrying out pre-operative vehicle checks daily

  • IT literate With a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office packages

  • Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

  • Full UK driving licence

Qualifications

  • Basic Literacy and Numeracy skills

  • Qualification in Pharmacy technician (Certificate in Ambulance Pharmacy Technician), equivalent to an NVQ Level 3.

  • Reach Forklift Driving licence
