Main duties of the job

Fixed Term Contract : 6 months. Applicants from within the NHS will be offered on a secondment basisonly & should obtain agreement from their employer prior to submitting theapplication. Applicants external to the NHS must demonstrate a break inreckonable NHS service of 12 months.

This opportunity is for asenior performance manager and analytics professional, working within NHSSussexs Business Intelligence (BI) team.

The post-holder will beexpected to actively engage and participate in cross-functional collaborationwithin the Strategy, Commissioning and Integration Directorate (SCI)Directorate, recognising the interconnectedness of the strategic and jointcommissioning and transformation portfolios. This includes sharing knowledge,insights, and best practice across the areas of Mental Health, LearningDisabilities and Autism, Acute, Urgent, Community and Primary Care and workingjointly with Strategy, and place-based Joint Commissioning and Integrationfunctions. The post-holder will share their subject matter expertise / skills,working strategically with others, supporting and embedding integration and newways of working, enabling collective decision-making & strategy development.

The post-holder will carry out any other duties as may reasonablybe required by the BI team., The Strategy, Commissioning and Integration Directorate(SCI) has been established to enable NHS Sussex to :

Strengthen its approach to strategic commissioning,focusing on outcomes and joining up pathways of care across organisationalboundaries.

Focus on reducing unwarranted variation inhealthcare and address health inequalities.

Develop integrated community teams, with systempartners including local authorities.

Lead the strategic development of the system toenable the establishment of clinically led provider collaboratives to improvepathways, deliver service transformation and deliver best value withinavailable resources.

The following changes are key to implement new ways of working to deliver the aims above :

Establish a single strategic commissioning functionacross NHS Sussex,supported by health analytics, evidence-based action and triangulation of feedback.

Establish clear line of shared accountabilitybetween strategic commissioning, quality, and clinical roles.

Standardise unwarranted variation in commissioning practice across the three local authority areas, including primary care commissioned services.

Strengthen focus on the deliverables within contracts, including the NHS Standard contract.

Strengthen the strategic leadership role of NHS Sussex.

Create a stronger infrastructure for delivery, with a clear focus on delivering improvement.

All staffing bands will work across Sussex to support increased strategic commissioning and a consistent approach to deliver our Improving Lives Together strategy, with a focus on Place where required to deliver local change.

The directorate will work in a matrix manner acrossteams to ensure delivery using an MDT approach., * Request Triage : Proficiency in prioritising and managing ad-hoc requests, including Freedom of Information (FOI) requests.

  • Timeliness : Ability to respond promptly to urgent inquiries.

  • 3.Briefing Preparation :

  • Information Synthesis : Skill in summarising complex information into concise briefings.

  • Tailored Briefings : Familiarity with creating audience-appropriate tailored briefings for a range of stakeholders, including senior and non-technical.

  • Deep Dive Analysis : Capability to conduct unplanned in-depth investigations as needed.

  • 4.Product Specification Development :

  • Business-As-Usual (BAU) Products : Understanding of organisational needs and translating them into product specifications.

  • Collaboration : Ability to work alongside and coordinate with other teams and functions, in particular with P&I Performance Development.

  • 5.Guidance and Resource Dissemination :

  • Knowledge Sharing : Proficiency in creating and distributing guidance documents, tools, and resources.

  • Self-Service Advocacy : Championing self-service options for users through intranet management.

  • Training and Support :

  • Product Training : Capability to train users on data products and tools.

  • Issue Resolution : Skill in addressing user queries and resolving technical issues.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of planning and delivering programmes and projects and services on time.

  • Experience of operating at a senior level., * Educated to masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area.

  • Extensive knowledge of specialist areas, acquired through post graduate diploma or equivalent experience or training plus further specialist knowledge or experience to masters level equivalent.

  • Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development
