Compliance & Legal Technology has responsibility for the bank\’s surveillance technology and legal technology. This comprises a team of in-house project manager\’s, BA\’s, developers and QA\’s who design, build, enhance and support both in house and vendor applications for compliance, the financial crime team and legal team.
What you\’ll be doing
ICBC Standard Bank requires a hands-on product owner to manage delivery for the bank\’s compliance and legal systems. The role will primarily focus on Market Conduct and AML surveillance.
This role will require close interaction with stakeholders across Compliance and IT. The job holder will be someone with good negotiating skills, demonstrates a sound approach to problem solving, has experience of leading teams and can break down a complex issue into a clear, well-articulated summary that creates clarity and transparency.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of new functional and non functional requirements, managing permanent and temporary resource, handling business stakeholder relationships and determining the application roadmaps. They will also be responsible for the management of relevant functional and non-functional delivery, including documentation. They will manage dependencies with other projects and input into the solution design, testing and sign-off of any new or changed services including both change-the-bank and run-the-bank activity.
They will be someone who is a champion for high standards across the whole software development lifecycle.
- Master functional understanding of the systems and the business processes driving the requirements.
- Build strong relationships with key business stakeholders through delivery of continuous improvements.
- Manage and organise the compliance technology function including product roadmap features for the team to implement.
- Prioritise production stability, embedding a \’production first\’ mindset into the team whereby delivery is stable and scalable.
- Demonstrate and embed high standards of requirements gathering via workshops, stakeholder interviews, scenario analysis, gap analysis, BPMN, use cases, workflow analysis, wireframes etc.
- Be responsible for maintaining the book of work, including holding regular review and prioritisation sessions with business stakeholders.
- Ensure the bank\’s SDLC is followed through the requirements gathering and delivery process. Ensure documentation is actively managed in a structured and organised fashion. Actively share subject matter expertise with the team and coach other team members to become SME\’s.
- Ensure a testing mindset is embedded within the team including the planning and execution of QA with full end to end traceability.
- Contribute to cross department initiatives and forums that have a direct and indirect impact on the team. Manage conflicts and contentions arising from cross department initiatives.
What you\’ll need to be successful
- Experience working in an investment bank and understands the need for control in a banking environment
- Understanding of regulatory controls across multiple global jurisdictions.
- Strong quantitative analysis, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Knowledge, technical skills and expertise
- Ability to lead and manage high performing teams.
- Knowledge and experience of transaction monitoring functions; e.g. Market Abuse surveillance, AML payment and trade surveillance.
- Knowledge of front to back trade, order and quote flows.
- Broad knowledge of financial products and data attributes.
- Strong business process definition and implementation skills.
- Advanced knowledge and experience of managing software delivery.
- Proficient data analysis and data management skills.
- Strong organizational and effective time management skills
- Strong QA experience.
