Volunteer Facilitators for Environmental Charity | East London Waterworks Park

East London Waterworks Park is seeking facilitator volunteers to lead projects and groups in creating our community-owned park.

What difference will you make?

You will have a significant impact on the creation of a biodiverse, community-owned park with free natural swimming ponds. By facilitating online gatherings and projects that explore how diverse professionals collaborate to shape community infrastructure, volunteers will help develop a park that reflects local needs and desires. What will you be doing?

As a volunteer facilitator, you will participate in community-led working groups that enhance cohesion, support the project, and co-design the park. You may lead projects involving architects, ecologists, community researchers, and other professionals. Facilitators choose a working group (circle) and join online meetings every 2 or 4 weeks, depending on the group, helping facilitate gatherings and community engagement activities. Outside meetings, tasks are completed remotely.

About the project

East London Waterworks Park is a volunteer-led charity that won a 2024 New London Architecture award and has raised £2m to transform the Thames Water Depot into a biodiverse park with natural ponds, forest schools, and community spaces. Facilitators will help strengthen community support and co-design the park with the public across six working groups, meeting every 2 or 4 weeks online.
