Senior Interim – INTERIM Chief Information Officer (CIO) – Responsible for a complex & large IT Function – UK wide search

All UK locations considered, average 1-2 day per week onsite, mostly remote working, DR\’s/Team based across multiple locations.

Eutopia Search have been instructed on an Interim CIO search, working for an established well known and Listed business. An executive-level leadership appointment, responsible for managing and implementing an organisation\’s IT strategy, ensuring that technology supports business goals and objectives. This includes managing IT budgets, overseeing large scale team, and ensuring the security of all IT systems and data.

Brief:

This Interim opportunity would suit a seasoned/experienced CIO, previously leading the IT function for a Mid-Large scale business, available to start in July for a period of 6 month, with possibility for an extension.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and Implementing IT Strategy:

Aligning IT with the company\’s overall business strategy, identifying technology needs, and developing plans to meet them.

  • Managing IT Operations:

Overseeing IT infrastructure, software, and hardware, ensuring they are functioning efficiently and effectively.

  • Managing IT Staff:

Hiring, training, and managing IT personnel, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge needed to support the organisation\’s IT needs.

  • Managing IT Budget:

Developing and managing the IT budget, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively and that costs are controlled.

  • Ensuring IT Security:

Implementing and maintaining security measures to protect the organization\’s IT systems and data from cyber threats.

  • Staying Up-to-Date on Technology:

Staying informed about the latest IT trends and technologies, identifying potential opportunities for improvement.

  • Communicating with Stakeholders:

Communicating IT information to various stakeholders, including executive management, business units, and employees.

  • Driving Innovation:

Exploring and implementing new technologies that can improve business processes and create new opportunities.

  • Ensuring Compliance:

Ensuring that the organization complies with relevant IT regulations and standards.

Required skills and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
  • Demonstrable experience as a Chief Information Officer (CIO) in a large-scale business with 10-15 years in IT management.
  • Proven track record of leading digital transformation initiatives and driving technology innovation in a multi-location environment.
  • Experience with cloud computing, data analytics, and other emerging technologies like blockchain, machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI).
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, data management and data protection practices.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism, with the ability to handle confidential information.
