Job Description:

Opportunity to join a fast-paced successful Ingredients business in their global procurement function as a Junior Category Procurement Manager.

This is a new role within a global food business reporting into a Global Category Manager. This business is a global business supplying innovative food solutions to both the food manufacturing and foodservice sector.

This role offers you the opportunity to work in a business that has long-standing partnerships with their customers. They work with leading retailers, manufacturers, and QSR businesses internationally which allows them to invest in their infrastructure as they grow with them.

The role will suit an experienced Buyer or Senior Buyer from the food industry who is looking to develop themselves in a category procurement role looking at commodity-based ingredients. It’s a great opportunity to progress your career in a hugely successful, growing business.

Day-to-day you’ll support the Global Category Manager developing sourcing and category plans to deliver cost savings, innovation, process, and product improvement. You’ll be responsible for implementing and delivering procurement strategies across key spend areas to ensure that cost-effective purchasing is achieved. You’ll also be looking for opportunities to leverage costs across the business whilst ensuring continuous supply of raw materials and the delivery of procurement projects.

You will need to have at least 3+ years’ buying experience in the commodity ingredients market. You’ll have owned and managed your own category and have a good knowledge of sourcing strategies and supplier communication across categories.

You will need to be UK based with a relevant UK work permit.
