Industrial Gas Engineer – Overview We are currently working with one of the longest established Industrial Gas companies in the UK who specialise in the service and installation of process gas appliances across various industries. They are looking for a motivated Industrial Gas Engineer to join the team with experience on Force Draught Burners, Atmospheric systems, High-Pressure Burners, Air Blast Systems and more. If you’re looking for a comfortable 9-5pm with local work, this might not be for you. But what they company can offer is comprehensive training at their in house training academy and a chance to earn and rack up and extremely good remuneration package across the year. There is constant availability for overtime, bonuses and with things like Door to Door travel pay, an excellent bonus system and the rest of the package, the money is there to be earned for those who want to do so. The work is technically nationwide, however they have one office in the North and one in the South, so they are currently in the process of splitting the country into more regional areas. They are looking for someone to cover the sites predominantly in the North but there will be travel throughout the country and occasional outlier sites in Wales, Edinburgh and other places. The day to day work involves servicing, fault finding, repairs, and installing various types of gas burners (forced draught/package and atmospheric on indirect and direct appliances), gas pipework, and associated gas equipment and controls at their client sites. Each day is different, some very relaxed, others more demanding. They understand the job can be demanding and frequently reward your hard work through various schemes within their package as well as gifts and days off. Due to the nature of their clients. The shut down periods on sites often run from Thursday- Monday meaning there is occasional Saturday work as well. They ask that all Engineers be available for up to two Saturdays a month as overtime – this isn’t always needed however due to shut down periods covering Thursday-Monday there is a requirement for them to do work over weekends for some clients. This is paid at Overtime + Door to Door. They would also be open to the option of someone working a 5 day week covering Thursday-Monday with Tuesday and Wednesday off if that interested you. They have a self designed and built training centre which they can offer constant comprehensive training through. All Gas Engineers are put through their part 1 and part 2 electrical training, wiring diagrams, controls training and much more. Industrial Gas Engineer – Expectations * Availability to work away when required. The company put the opportunity to work away to the entire engineering team and often, they get enough volunteers to cover it mostly however occasionally you will be required. This is usually for 2, 3 or 4 days in one block. Available to be on the Call Out Rota – 1 week in 8 * Available for up to two Saturdays a month as overtime – this isn’t always needed however due to shut down periods covering Thursday-Monday there is a requirement for them to do work over weekends for some clients. This is paid at Overtime + Door to Door. * Employees to be home-based, however, must be prepared to travel as our client base is nationwide. * To supply basic hand tools * Must hold a valid driving license and a passport for opportunities to work in Europe. Industrial Gas Engineer – Salary & Remuneration * Salary up to £47,000 (Plus Door to Door, Overtime, Bonuses, Standby payments) * Door to Door Travel Pay * Company Van & Fuel Card (personal use allowed) * 25 days holiday plus bank holidays * Annual Bonuses * Tax-free overnight allowance of £26 for sustenance with inconvenience payment of £50 per night. * Overtime rates – Mon to Sat AM –1.5x, Saturday PM – 2x, Sunday – 2x * On-call standby payment – 9 days every 8 weeks with a payment of £250 * Death in service insurance @ 3 X salary * Full Sick Pay * Monthly Thank You – A Day off as a reward individuals who go above and beyond what is necessary or expected within their role. * Pension with company contribution of 6% of gross earnings
