The Power System Technician will provide a technical engineering service with the minimum of supervision in respect of mechanical & electrical servicing, repairs, maintenance, supervision and installation.

Location: This role is based in around North East England

The role

Reporting directly to the team manager the Power Systems Technician will be part of a multi-skilled team covering the North East England service area. Even though you are part of a team you'll be providing your individual contribution to this multi skilled team providing day to day operational duties. Some travel outside of the normal team area may be required in exceptional circumstances.

  • To respond to faults in a timely manner and complete corrective maintenance on a range of systems to meet our Customer Service Level Agreements.
  • Carrying out preventative maintenance in line with Arqiva standards, policies and procedures.
  • Support upgrades and modifications to existing systems and networks following agreed instructions.
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation and reporting of actions taken.
  • Available to work flexibly, both independently and as part of a team.
  • To ensure that equipment operates to specified performance criteria.
  • To ensure equipment is maintained to conform to agreed company standards.
  • Engage with customers and build positive working relationships.
  • To undertake contractor supervision duties as required, including monitoring of contractors and their workmanship, so that relevant standards are met.
  • To actively participate in 24/7 365 callout response as per the scheduled rota.
  • Always working safely, complying with current Health & Safety legislation and Arqiva Safety policy.
  • Be willing to learn new transmission skills, with an option to train to climb to progress to climbing role.
  • Role Includes lone working in remote locations.

Qualifications:

  • A valid driving license.
  • Time served electrician. (NVQ 3 & AM2.)
  • City & Guilds 2382 – 18th Edition Regulations
  • City & Guilds 2391 – Inspection and Test Or 2394 & 2395 Verification & inspection testing.

Required Expertise:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in an electrical maintenance role
  • Minimum 2 years experience conducting EICRs.
  • Experience with fault finding and diagnosis.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical single line diagrams and schematics.
  • Working knowledge of BS7671 Requirements for Electrical Installations.
  • Experience working on three phase equipment and systems.
