The Role – Primary Learning Support Assistant
As a Learning Support Assistant, you’ll work collaboratively with teaching staff to enhance the classroom experience for all pupils, with a particular focus on emotional and physical wellbeing. Your clinical or care experience will be invaluable in providing support tailored to individual needs, both educational and pastoral.
Key duties include:
- Supporting children across KS1 and KS2, in both classroom and small group settings
- Offering personalised care and encouragement to pupils with specific needs
- Promoting pupil wellbeing and identifying any emerging health concerns
- Assisting with basic medical needs and adhering to first aid protocols
- Creating a calm, positive and engaging learning environment
- Supporting transitions and developing children’s social and life skills
- Working closely with teachers, SEN staff and families to ensure joined-up support
Person Specification

- Nursing, therapy, support work, clinical healthcare, or first aid roles
