We are looking for a Head of Financial Reporting who strives to improve everything they do and has the courage to challenge the status quo. You will focus on servicing the Group level financial and regulatory reporting requirements and form close working relationships internally with the wider Finance team and business units as well as externally, namely with the Auditors. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Group consolidated monthly, quarterly, and annual financial, statutory and regulatory reporting deliverables to both internal and external stakeholders in compliance with IFRS and Solvency II regulatory guidance.
- Proactively manage strong internal and external stakeholder relationships
- Champion and support the Group Financial Controller in developing a continuous improvement culture utilising external insights and best practice.
- Maintain and enhance the financial control environment with regards to Group reporting activities and the broader financial control framework.
- Actively support both Finance and Group-wide projects relevant to the role
- Lead, manage and develop a team of c.5 individuals
- Be an active member of the Group Financial Control leadership team
- Lead and role model a culture of excellence across the wider Financial Control team
Skills/ Qualifications/ Experience require:
- Post 8 years fully qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA)
- Strong technical and financial reporting knowledge within the financial services sector (preferably the insurance sector)
- Ability to constructively challenge and analyse results
- Hands on approach and a keen eye for detail
- Strong problem solving skills
- Strong control mindset and experience
- Good understanding of group consolidation principles and financial reporting systems (preferably Oracle)
- Experience of delivering change and continuously improving
Reporting Relationships/ Interactions:
- Reports to the Group Financial Controller
- Maintain constructive and supportive professional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders including the Finance Senior Leadership team, our Regulators and external Auditors
