Whether working with individuals experiencing mental health challenges, those navigating grief and loss, or people living with trauma, this role offers the opportunity to provide life-changing support in a safe, confidential and person-centred environment.
We have an opportunity for counsellors to the join CrossReach Counselling & Recovery Service, based in Edinburgh. As a counsellor with CrossReach, you will deliver professional and ethical counselling sessions, working either one-to-one or with groups depending on the needs of the service. You’ll maintain clear and accurate records, contribute to service development, and collaborate with colleagues and external partners to ensure every client receives the best possible care.
At CrossReach we understand the importance of work-life balance and have various working patterns and hours available to suit your needs and those of the service. These are temporary positions initially, however depending upon funding, these may go permanent in time.
To succeed in this role, you’ll hold a recognised counselling qualification (minimum diploma level) and be registered with a relevant professional body such as BACP, COSCA or UKCP. You’ll bring experience of working with a variety of client issues, including substance use, anxiety, depression, trauma or relationship challenges as well as excellent communication skills, emotional resilience and a strong commitment to dignity, inclusion and respect.
