The Opportunity
A growing and dynamic business is seeking a commercially focused Group Accountant to join its senior finance team. This is a key role responsible for leading consolidated reporting across multiple trading subsidiaries, delivering robust analysis and insight, and supporting financial planning at group level.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in financial reporting and consolidation, paired with a sharp commercial acumen and a proactive, improvement-oriented mindset.
The Role
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Group Accountant will coordinate submissions from group entities, lead on group budgeting and forecasting, and deliver impactful reporting to stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review consolidated monthly and annual financial accounts, ensuring compliance with accounting standards
- Coordinate financial submissions from subsidiaries and ensure timely and accurate reporting across the group
- Lead group budgeting and forecasting activities, driving improvements in automation and process efficiency
- Develop and deliver commercially driven financial reporting and insightful analysis for leadership decision-making
- Manage group cash forecasting, including monitoring compliance with internal and external requirements (e.g., lender covenants)
- Support CFO in producing reports and presentations for stakeholders
- Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and other external parties
- Assist with insurance renewals and central department finance support
Who We\’re Looking For:
- Qualified Accountant (e.g. CA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with strong post-qualification experience
- Proven experience in financial consolidation, reporting, and forecasting within a multi-entity environment
- Highly proficient in Excel, with confidence in building and working with financial models
- Commercially astute with a keen eye for identifying trends, risks, and opportunities
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills across all levels
- Detail-oriented with a structured and logical approach to financial management
Desirable:
- Experience working with integrated financial modelling tools
- Familiarity with UK financial reporting and audit requirements
