A unique opportunity has arisen for a technically strong, hands-on Group Financial Accountant to join the Group Finance team of an international group undergoing a significant strategic transformation.
As the business pivots to focus on their high growth markets, the finance function is playing a critical role in managing complexity, driving accurate reporting, and supporting the execution of business disposals.
You\’ll play a pivotal part in steering the Group\’s financial reporting through a complex period of change.
- Salary: £65K-£75K (depending on experience)
- Hybrid working: 3 days office based and 2 days WFH
- Location: Crawley
Main responsibilities include:
- Assist with multi-currency group consolidations across monthly, half-year, and year-end cycles
- Group\’s statutory financial reporting (interims and full-year accounts)
- Manage tax accounting and related disclosures
- Liaise with external auditors and support audit processes
- Ensure Group compliance with IFRS and lead on technical accounting matters
- Oversee financial aspects of business disposals as they occur
- Maintain and enhance the Cognos consolidation system, including liaison with system providers
- Lead accounting for group-level items such as goodwill, impairments, leases (IFRS 16), and share-based payments
- Provide technical support across the Group for ad hoc and emerging accounting issues
Essential skills/experience required:
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA/ICAS/CA(SA) or (CA ANZ) qualified, ideally Audit trained
- Technically strong with excellent IFRS knowledge
- Experience of group consolidation in a complex, multi-currency environment
- Familiarity with consolidation tools
- Proactive, detail-oriented and confident in managing complex reporting requirements
