Job Description

Job Purpose

Market Supervision is the front-line operations team supporting the function and surveillance of thousands of global derivates markets available across the ICE Exchanges. As a graduate analyst you will be based in the ICE Futures Europe (“IFEU”) London Headquarters office, primarily responsible for monitoring the IFEU market suite whilst additionally supporting the ICE Futures U.S., ICE Futures Singapore, ICE ENDEX and ICE Futures Abu Dhabi Exchanges. Market Supervision collaborates with teams across the ICE business, and across the globe, to ensure the integrity and transparency of our markets is upheld in the face of changing market infrastructures and conditions.

Responsibilities

As a graduate analyst, you will enroll into a unique training program which will provide the opportunity to build a robust understanding of financial markets, and the operational processes that underpin them, through immediate exposure and management of multiple international asset classes including Oil, Utilities, Soft Commodities, Fixed Income and Indices.

As the European nucleus for operational oversight, development, execution and response, you will contribute directly alongside other Market Supervision Analysts, Managers, Directors and the Head of the department in the completion of the following functions:

  • Trade Investigations – in response to unrepresentative trading activity, you will conduct time-sensitive investigations where robust and efficient decision making is critical.
  • Official Exchange Settlement Prices – expeditious and accurate calculation of daily and final settlement prices that are used as benchmark reference prices and by our ICE Clear Europe Clearing House to manage participant risk.
  • Price Management – order entry on the Exchange is regulated by comprehensive price controls that you will be responsible for ensuring are applied to representative fair market values.
  • Front-Line Support – you will serve as a primary internal and external point of contact for all operations-related enquiries that will require exact, proactive and professional management

The training and development of our people is critical to the future success of our business. We want to empower you to grow in your own way, to feed your curiosity and embrace a growth mindset in an environment where learning is continuous.

Through our new analyst training program and the support of numerous internal and external courses, available to you throughout your career at ICE, you will be able to build upon an array of technical, non-technical and specialised skill sets.

Knowledge and Experience

The Market Supervision team at ICE provides graduates with the opportunity to become fully immersed in the financial markets’ ecosystem. Whilst the subject-focus of your degree may provide a helpful knowledge base when assuming the role as a Market Analyst, we are looking for driven, inquisitive candidates that are ready to proactively learn about the role and the industry through the rigorous training we provide.

At ICE, your development and growth is a crucial investment for us and we want to discover which individual strengths and attributes you demonstrate that will allow you to adapt and succeed within this team. The fast-paced demands of the role require candidates to be methodical, proficient problem solvers and excellent communicators, ready to be able to concisely liaise with clients and colleagues of all levels of seniority.

As a technology-oriented company, we expect candidates to have a strong knowledge of Microsoft applications with an interest in further developing these skills.

Candidates must be studying towards, or have obtained, a minimum 2:1 degree. Whilst the degree does not have to correspond to a specific discipline, we expect candidates to have an enthusiastic interest in financial markets.
