What you will do
The candidate will initially focus on UK operational real estate (e.g., student accommodation, single family housing, care homes, self-storage, hotels etc.) in joint ventures, with opportunities later to work across all sectors (office, retail, industrial, residential, etc.). The role will include the following:
A deep understanding of the UK real estate investment market and able to source and underwrite investment opportunities.
Ability to include debt into cashflows and generate loan covenant analysis using cashflow projections.
Assisting in the development and management of financial models, market research, detailed property assessments, review of due diligence reports, preparation of investment memorandums for internal and external investment committees, and communication with various stakeholders (both internal and external).
May also include involvement in ongoing performance reporting (working with Portfolio Managers), asset management (working with Asset Managers), as well as involvement with the capital markets team, on an ad hoc basis.
Quarterly review of appraisals for factual accuracy and ability to articulate valuation changes.
Monitoring property performance through the review of the monthly operating reports and ensure compliance with loan covenants or raise issues with fund team.
Preparation of authorization memos – sales memos, budget increases, loan refinance memos, lease approval memos.
What you will bring
Masters degree in real assets or finance
4/5 years’ relevant work experience in direct real estate or real asset finance
Demonstrable analytical and technical skills as well as very strong verbal and written English.
Experience in operational real estate, particularly residential, care homes, student, self-storage and joint venture investing.
