Job Description:
Ontic , an aerospace industry leading provider of ‘Extended Life Solutions’ for Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) legacy and non-core products, has an opportunity for an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team andto support our continued success and ambitious growth plans. This role is remote and you\’ll ideally need to be located in either the South West or South East region.
You\’ll be required to travel frequently across the UK individually, as part of your wider team and with colleagues from our Supply Chain department. Travel will often mean staying away overnight (funded by the business) within the UK, with occasional overseas travel for longer periods.
What will you be doing?
You’ll be responsible for overseeing Quality within the Ontic Supply Chain to include approval of suppliers and monitoring of supplier performance. You’ll conduct product and system audits (internally and externally) to assess the technical/process capabilities of potential and existing suppliers.
You’ll work with internal colleagues and our suppliers to initiate corrective action and overcome issues regarding product discrepancy, whilst preventing the future re-occurrence of problems. You’ll manage additional quality projects and contribute to Continuous Improvement initiatives.
What will you need to know?
You’ll have previous experience as performing to AS9100/AS9102 standards and will have either a strong background in Supplier Quality Engineering and/or Auditing within the Aerospace environment. You\’ll ideally need knowledge of machining processes, castings & forgings etc.
You’ll also be a subject matter expert in quality engineering principles and regulatory administration in some of the following areas; Part 21, Part 145, , IS0 9001, Corrective Action Response (CAR), Root Cause Investigation Techniques.
This is a critical role within the business and you\’ll be maintaining standards to the highest level so you\’ll need to be self-driven and very proactive.
