Energy Market Analytics – Gas Analytics
Main responsibilities
Take a leading role in developing EDFT's market views, models and processes to support gas trading:
Key responsibilities of this role include:
- Work closely with colleagues in the gas analytics team, gas data engineers and gas traders, and other EDFT colleagues around the world, to develop models to further the desk's understanding of short- and medium-term fundamental dynamics for Global and European markets
- Develop trading ideas based on analysis of fundamentals, statistics and option pricing
- Maintain a superior level of quantitative rigor in analysis and closely monitor accuracy of analytical output over time.
- Develop tools to monitor market developments and implied gas balances.
- Effectively communicate views and findings to gas traders and analysts, and to other EDFT trader, analysts and management.
- Willingness to be flexible and adjust to changing conditions – the list of responsibilities is not exhaustive and may be subject to change!
Experience required
- 3 – 5 years of experience in an energy commodities role, ideally with a strong understating of European gas and LNG markets
- Experience from working on a trading desk would be ideal
- Knowledge of statistical analysis and other quantitative techniques
Technical requirements
- Advanced degree in engineering, sciences, math, finance, or economics or equivalent experience or relevant real world experience
- Advanced skills in a combination of Excel, SQL, Python and statistics
