Important. Security clearance to SC cleared level will be required for this position. If you do not hold it, you must be eligible to obtain it, meaning a minimum of 5 years unbroken UK residential history.

This is a staff position, but experienced contractors will also be considered.

The role offers a great opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to join a respected and friendly procurement team, helping develop supply chains across a wide variety of interesting nuclear projects.

What is it all about?

You will provide assistance and support to the Procurement Manager and, as required, provide guidance to the Procurement Team in delivering objectives by providing a quality Procurement & Supply Chain service that complies with the company Procurement Supply Chain Lifecycle requirements.

You will also deliver a key procurement project in parallel, ensuring that the resulting contracts protect the company from unnecessary risk while delivering value for money and supporting the company\’s commercial contracts.

What will you be responsible for?

  • Overall supply chain responsibility for a major project
  • Supporting the delivery of strategic objectives by engaging with stakeholders early and adopting a team approach throughout the procurement lifecycle
  • Managing and delivering multiple sourcing strategies, including:
  • Sourcing activities that generate benefits and achieve financial savings
  • Supply market analysis and introducing new suppliers where necessary
  • Identifying internal and external cost drivers influenced by procurement
  • Preparing tender documentation and evaluation criteria
  • Leading or supporting the drafting and negotiation of supply chain contracts, ensuring flowdown terms are incorporated
  • Supporting bids and estimating processes to understand sub-contract or supplier requirements
  • Promoting procurement to add value and improve customer service across relevant departments
  • Supporting the Commercial team in contract negotiations and placements
  • Developing supplier relationships through SRM strategies
  • Maintaining compliant procurement activities according to the company\’s sourcing strategy
  • Developing procurement processes through 360 Supplier Review
  • Negotiating contractual agreements to ensure good service, quality, cost, and supply security
  • Supporting the implementation of new procurement processes and systems
  • Managing stakeholder requirements related to KPIs, supplier performance, and reporting
  • Supporting the management of high-value contracts and framework agreements
  • Working with the Bid and Estimating team to understand supply chain requirements
  • Ensuring customer requirements are understood and met, working closely with engineering, manufacturing, and project teams
  • Identifying and delivering value-adding opportunities from the supply chain
  • Managing supplier selection and assessment based on technical, cost, quality, delivery, health & safety, and environmental performance
  • A little about you

    • Understanding of client quality documentation requirements, including ISO9001:2015
    • Experience in setting up and negotiating contracts
    • Experience assessing Make or Buy decisions
    • Involvement in formal ITT processes
    • Understanding of strategic supply chain management decisions and implementation
    • Experience in engineering or manufacturing environments

    Skills/Qualifications

    • Chartered member of The Institute of Purchasing & Supply Management (desirable or willing to work towards it with support)
    • Degree qualified or relevant industry experience
