We\’re looking for a talented Business Development Consultant to join our team, responsible for managing sales directly with our SME clients with up to 750 employees, focusing on our Salary Sacrifice product. You will be the face and voice of Octopus Electric Vehicles, advising and supporting customers throughout their journey towards setting up a Salary Sacrifice scheme. A passion for customer experience and sustainability, along with relationship building, is essential.
This role includes an uncapped commission structure and a generous car allowance. It is based in our central London office 1-2 days a week. Please note this is a 9-12 month MAT contract.
What you\’ll do
- Develop and establish your sales pipeline from lead to delivery, meeting or exceeding targets.
- Strategically plan and target new customer acquisition.
- Pitch and present our product and services to new clients.
- Manage your pipeline and record progress in our CRM system.
- Attend exhibition events to meet prospects and promote electric vehicles (virtual or in-person).
- Provide excellent customer service throughout the sales process.
- Collaborate with wider teams to improve propositions, processes, and materials.
What you\’ll need
- Proven track record of hitting sales targets while maintaining excellent customer experience (preferred).
- Experience in a B2B consultative environment and a passion for Electric Vehicles/Energy and decarbonisation (required).
- Excellent listening and communication skills, with the ability to manage customer expectations.
- A customer-focused attitude and enthusiasm for going above and beyond.
- Self-motivation, willingness to learn, and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of processes and a \’whole business\’ perspective.
- Adaptability to change and a startup/innovative mindset.
- Knowledge of employee benefits/rewards and/or car leasing is a bonus.
- Experience dealing with senior stakeholders is a bonus.
