An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Project Manager to join a key long-term scheme within the Thames Water Framework, focusing on the Chipping Norton project.
This role offers the chance to work on a high-value, nfrastructure project, contributing to essential improvements in regional water systems. You\’ll be joining a collaborative team environment with long-term scope and flexibility around rates depending on experience.
About the Role:
As a Project Manager, you\’ll take full responsibility for the planning, execution, and delivery of civil engineering works across multiple project locations. Working closely with site teams, clients, and internal stakeholders, you\’ll ensure that all elements of the scheme are delivered safely, on time, and within budget – while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.
This is a hands-on, client-facing role that requires strong leadership skills, technical understanding, and a proactive approach to project risk and issue management.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the successful delivery of multi-site wastewater infrastructure works
- Coordinate with site managers, engineers, and subcontractors to drive progress
- Ensure all activities meet regulatory, safety, and environmental standards
- Maintain clear communication with all stakeholders, including Thames Water representatives
- Produce and manage project programmes, cost forecasts, and reports
- Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to avoid delays or overruns
- Ensure project documentation is complete, accurate, and up to date
- Champion a culture of health & safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Project Manager within the civil engineering or infrastructure sector
- Experience in the water industry not essential
- Strong knowledge of civil works (e.g. pipelines, earthworks, concrete structures)
- Demonstrable experience managing multi-site projects
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills
- Capable of working under pressure in a fast-paced and regulated environment
- Client-facing experience with the ability to build lasting relationships
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. HNC/HND/Degree in Civil Engineering or related field) preferred
