We are currently seeking experienced Rail Ecologists with valid PTS (Personal Track Safety) certification for short-term contract work supporting key rail infrastructure projects across the UK.

This is a great opportunity for ecology professionals with rail experience who are available for immediate deployment on field-based surveys and mitigation work.

Essential Requirements:

Previous experience working as an ecologist within the rail sector

Valid PTS card

Relevant degree in ecology, environmental science, or similar

Right to work in the UK

Protected species licences (e.g., bats, GCN)

Membership of CIEEM

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct ecological field surveys along active rail routes (e.g., habitat, protected species, vegetation assessments)

Support night and weekend works, including ecological watching briefs during construction or maintenance

Implement mitigation measures in accordance with project requirements and ecological best practice

Maintain detailed and accurate field records and assist with data reporting

Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental procedures while working on or near the railway
