The Optical Manager will be responsible for overseeing and directing operations for the Optical department and other areas of the warehouse. The duties will include: Scheduling, developing, counseling, training and directing department personnel. Making recommendations for hiring, promotion and termination to Warehouse Manager. Reviewing department budget, financial statements and insurance payment records. Developing and implementing plans for merchandising, productivity and profitability. Observing employee performance and paperwork to ensure that department procedures and standards are followed. Implementing and upholding safety and security procedures. Approving and submits orders for equipment, product and supplies. Coordinating proper maintenance and repairs for machinery and equipment. Oversees apprentices as required for certification qualification. Overseeing and participating in duties of Licensed Dispensing Opticians. Fitting and adjusting eyeglasses, dispensing contacts. Assisting with front end duties and other departments of the warehouse where necessary. Providing and ensuring prompt and courteous member service. This is a full time management/leadership position (45+ hours per week).
