Job Description
We’re looking for a talented Finance Business Partner – Accounting & Controls to join our UK Finance team. This role sits at the heart of our financial operations, ensuring robust financial control and delivering high-quality reporting, while acting as a trusted partner to stakeholders across the business.
You’ll be the key liaison between our finance function and business units—translating numbers into narratives, supporting strategic decisions, and maintaining financial integrity across our operations. It’s a high-visibility role with the chance to make a real impact.
Your focus will be on driving accurate, timely, and insightful financial reporting and controls across the UK business. You will:
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring integrity of the general ledger and internal reporting.
- Prepare financial packs and group reporting to Valeo Group, with alignment to internal results and OneStream outputs.
- Own the relationship with our Dutch accounting and tax advisors for subsidiary support.
- Oversee tax compliance—VAT, corporation tax, and R&D claims—liaising with HMRC, group tax teams, and external consultants.
- Maintain the group fixed asset register, ensuring compliance with internal accounting policies.
- Manage our insurance process with brokers and coordinate annual renewals.
- Support internal and external audits with appropriate documentation and financial analysis.
Crucially, you’ll be a proactive business partner—working with a variety of stakeholders across finance, operations, and commercial teams to provide actionable insight and support business decision-making.
Qualifications
We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical expertise with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders.
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with 3–5 years’ PQE in a financial control, accounting, or finance business partner role.
- Proven experience in month-end close, reporting, and tax compliance, preferably in a group or multi-entity structure.
- Commercial acumen with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
- Strong systems knowledge (e.g., Sage, Oracle, IFS) and confident in Microsoft Excel.
- A collaborative mindset—you’re someone who works well cross-functionally, building relationships and driving alignment.
- Industry experience in FMCG or food is helpful, but not essential.
