Are you an experienced accountant looking for a new challenge in a dynamic, multicultural environment? We are seeking a skilled German speaking accountant to join international team based in London – Westminster (hybrid work). This is an exciting opportunity to work with a passionate group of professionals in the conference and event industry. This is a 6 month FTC with a great opportunity to become permanent for the right person.
Key Responsibilities
In this hands-on role, you\’ll be a key contributor to our financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and insight across our global business. Your responsibilities will include:
- Generating weekly financial summaries for management
- Managing transactions in multiple currencies
- Preparing and filing monthly VAT returns and German VAT compliance
- Reconciling bank and credit card statements
- Handling accruals, provisions, and prepayments independently
- Supporting month-end closings and annual financial statements (HGB)
- Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis projects
About you
We\’re looking for someone who is analytical, self-motivated, and fluent in both numbers and communication:
- At least 5 years of experience in accounting
- Solid understanding of general ledger and sub-ledger systems
- Familiarity with German VAT rules and inter-company processes
- Strong Excel skills and openness to learning new tools
- Fluent in German and English (spoken and written)
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- A proactive mindset and the ability to work independently
