Redfish Infrastructure are partnering with a Leading Tier 1 Contractor delivering several civil infrastructure projects across the UK.
As a result of the upcoming works they require an experienced Senior Temporary Works Design Engineer to join their in-house Temporary Works design team.
This role offers the opportunity to work on a range of complex civil engineering projects across the UK, with involvement in some of the most technically challenging and rewarding infrastructure projects.
As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for producing safe, practical, and cost-effective designs for temporary works and piling systems. You\’ll collaborate closely with project teams, site engineers, and external stakeholders to ensure that engineering solutions are delivered efficiently and in line with site and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and detail temporary works and piling solutions for a variety of construction environments, ensuring compliance with design briefs, industry standards, and safety requirements.
- Provide technical support to project teams from early-stage planning through to execution on site.
- Carry out engineering calculations, prepare technical drawings, and maintain accurate design documentation.
- Coordinate with site personnel to ensure that designs are practical and buildable within site constraints.
- Review and check internal and third-party designs as required, contributing to internal quality assurance procedures.
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to resolve technical queries and support smooth project delivery.
- Contribute to innovation in design, value engineering, and continuous improvement of engineering processes.
Essential Requirements:
- Demonstrable experience in a design engineering role within piling, ground engineering, or temporary works.
- Proficiency in structural analysis and engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Tekla Tedds, Revit, Robot, or similar).
- Solid understanding of design codes and regulations, including BS 5975, Eurocodes, and CDM.
- A degree in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present engineering solutions clearly to site teams and stakeholders.
