Due to continued success, our Client is looking to appoint a Technical Area Sales Manager to drive the growth of their business in the Central UK region.

The Role

Reporting to: Sales Director

As Area Sales Manager, this newly created role demands a high level of self-motivation, a professional sales manner and the ability to both develop and maintain an existing customer base along with identifying and generating new business opportunities across the Central region.

Main duties involve:

  • Proactively contact both current and prospective customers, building strong relationships with the aim of maximising sales and exceeding KPI’s and targets for the region
  • Identify and track project opportunities across the Midlands and South Central regions
  • Target contractors and specialist Sub-Contractors to develop sales opportunities, including Civils contractors, Tier 1 Contractors (Usual suspects, Balfours, Kiers, Morgans, HS2 etc) Brick contractors, steel contractors etc
  • Introduce key initiative products
  • Produce sales reports and identify key market trends, delivering these insights to the management team and colleagues across the wider business
  • Provide timely and accurate estimates to customers for products and services
  • Ensure the required margin is maintained
  • Delivering excellent customer service and communication

The Candidate

In order to be successful in this role, you will need to enjoy working within a fast-paced sales environment where professionalism and a high levels of customer service are key to success.

You should have the ability to thrive in an autonomous role that requires self-motivation along with strong relationship-building and negotiation skills.

Experience in the construction industry is imperative along with a proven track-record in building and maintaining relationships with contractors across the Midlands and South Central regions.

Other skills required include:

  • Knowledge of a range of construction materials (i.e. brickwork accessories, waterproofing, gas membranes and concrete repair products)
  • A self-starter
  • Ability to manage and organise your own diary
  • Excellent communication skills and organisational skills
  • Enthusiastic and professional manner
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to work using your own initiative within a demanding, target driven environment.
  • A full, clean driving license
