ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for an ambitious CCAB or CIMA part qualified professional to join our Finance Business Partner Team. Reporting to the Finance Business Partner (Support Services), the main responsibilities of the post holder will be to:
• Provide professional and expert accounting and technical service to a range of services including the Council’s Support Services, more specifically Corporate Services, ICT and Business Change & Digital;
• Provide support to the Finance Business Partner (Support Services);
• Contribute to budget setting and the production of the annual budget book;
• Provide budget monitoring information to managers;
• Contribute to the closure of the accounts by the statutory deadline;
• Produce financial information for reports written by officers of the council;
• Input into monthly Key Performance Information to the Senior Leadership Team;
• Calculating corporate overheads (recharges) for the Support Services.
ABOUT YOU
The successful candidate will:
• be CCAB or CIMA part qualified accountant;
• have local government experience;
• have a good understanding of council services and experience in providing professional financial advice to budget managers;
• have advanced computer skills, the ability to question and analyse data and to present it in a coherent and user friendly format;
• be flexible, with a motivated attitude, and the ability to work unsupervised when necessary and have a good working understanding of finance packages.
