Take charge of maintaining accuracy, integrity, and efficiency in stock management for Jascots Wine Merchants. As Stock Controller, you\’ll oversee inventory tracking, stock investigations, audits, and reconciliation, ensuring optimal stock levels while reducing waste and improving customer service.
This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and leadership ability, as you\’ll collaborate across teams, manage stock KPIs, and support the implementation of a new Warehouse Management System. Key Purpose of the Role
Responsibility for the maintenance, accuracy and integrity of all Jascots stock through the effective management of the Company’s Stock Control processes.
Key Responsibilities
· Production and maintenance of stock control KPIs
· Maintain accurate stock location records through regular checks. Audits and stock counts
· Working with the wider Supply Chain Team to ensure the optimum Jascots stock profile, reduce waste & improve customer service levels
· Carry out thorough stock investigations and resolutions. Provide written explanations to support authorisation.
· Planning, of stock takes in line with the company’s financial timetable. Organise and lead the wall-to-wall stock count process alongside the Warehouse Manager, through to completed reconciliation, final posting and publishing the approved executive summary
· Responsible for the accuracy and compliance of the goods inwards process within prescribed business targets.
· Responsible for the accurate receipt of returned goods, their return to shelf and credit to customer
· Processing of return to stock credits
· Responsible for producing stock shortage data and reports for sign off by the Warehouse Manager on customer orders
· Provide location availability/storage accuracy/movement reports to the wider business
· Provide regular and ad hoc stock reports as required
· Support the implementation and ongoing use of the new Warehouse Management System as the company’s SME
Skills/Experience
· Experience with Microsoft Excel
· Ideally at least 3 years relevant work experience in stock control, supply chain or a related environment
· High level of numeracy and literacy to be able to report on and investigate/analyse stock discrepancies
· Fork lift truck (reach/Counterbalance/Articulated) – beneficial
· Experience working with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Warehouse Management System (WMS) essential
· Comfortable communicating at any level throughout the business and externally
