As a Business Analyst you will be involved in supporting front office traders / risk managers and other business users with their tools and applications. Alongside the support aspect you will drive tactical and strategic improvements across the functional areas related to the front and middle office aspects of the trade lifecycle.
You will join the London Front Office Support team in a hybrid capacity, working alongside another BA within the D&A Delivery Vertical for Trading-IT.
What you’ll do
As the Business Analyst for Trading, you will provide technical support with regards to a range of IT systems and applications, resolving technical issues, and providing user support. You will collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs, documenting requirements, and translating these into actionable technical specifications for software development or system enhancements. You will also:
- Work with large datasets, developing analytical models, and creating reports or dashboards using SQL / Excel / PowerBI / Tableau
- Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency gains within the front office operations, proposing and implementing solutions that enhance productivity, reduce operational risks, or optimise trading strategies
- Work closely with the business stakeholders and Delivery Vertical leads to ensure the book for work is maintained and prioritised in accordance with stakeholder agreement across all impacted functions.
What you’ll bring to the role
You will have a strong knowledge of the European Gas and Power Markets, and familiar with the Gas Storage and/or LNG Deal Lifecycle. You will also have;
- Demonstrated ability to make timely decisions to ensure efficient change mobilisation.
- Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, charting, pivoting, and data imports (SQL, .CSV).
- Strong SQL skills, encompassing understanding of relational databases, right and left joins, where conditions, and aggregate functions (e.g., having statement).
- Proficient in effectively articulating and eliciting requirements from business and development teams.
- Able to thrive under tight deadlines and negotiate effectively in high-pressure environments.
- Degree (or equivalent ideally in a numerate subject or computing related subject.
