Location: This is a remote role with regular touch points and an average of four in-person service visits per month

Through this we can demonstrate that people with a learning disability can be leaders in society but we cant do this without you! Thera Trust is looking for a Operational Assurance Manager.
The Role
- Conduct regular oversight and analysis of quality/assurance/risk within regulated supported living and care home registration with CQC and the Care Inspectorate , utilising various methodologies to assess and identify risks.
- Develop agreed priorities and plans to assess the quality of services.
- Visit designated locations on a schedule agreed upon with the Head of Operational Assurance to ensure standards are maintained.
- Produce timely reports outlining levels of compliance and key areas for improvement following quality assurance visits.
- Provide practical guidance and assistance to improve quality in areas visited and in your areas of expertise to Registered /operational managers.
- Collaborate with operational managers to devise updated ways of working to improve quality.
- Gather, evaluate, and analyse data relating to quality measures using digital incident and accident management systems improve quality.
- Generate intelligence regarding locations to identify assurance and any threats to achieving outstanding quality levels.
- Ensure that any identified risks to statutory requirements are actively managed in collaboration with appropriate stakeholders.
- Work closely with Registered Managers and the Head of Operational Assurance and the Quality Involvement team to develop pre-visit plans targeting specific areas of identified risk.
- Adopt a \’critical friend\’ and \’coaching\’ approach to foster productive relationships with Managers.
- Encourage locations to innovate, ensuring good practices are shared and successes celebrated
Experience
- Experience of working in a leadership or management position or can demonstrate equivalent experience
- Professional qualification in Health & Social Care, Nursing, Social Work, or an allied field would be highly desirable.
- Expertise in measuring improvements in complex systems.In-depth knowledge of statutory requirements for the Care sector, healthcare regulations, and guidance.
- Ability to analyse complex data and investigate problems to develop a range of solutions.
- Experience of providing training to professionals and operational teams
- Experience and understanding of quality and safety issues related to mental health services and people with learning disabilities
- Experience of working collaboratively across professionals and services
- Experience of report writing
- Demonstrable skills in mentoring, teaching and coaching.
- Excellent organisational ability & methodical approach
- Excellent communication skills to be able to relay technical information to non-technical people
- Ability to learn and understand quickly
- Confident in the use of Microsoft Excel to enter, collate and perform basic analysis of information as part of monitoring, audit and reporting as well as other MS Office programmes
