We appreciate that everyone has diverse career aspirations, and that\’s what sets us apart.

One of the ways we are responding to the dynamic nature of the legal sector is through our In-House Lawyers, GCSolutions panel. We have identified secondment opportunities across various exceptional clients and sectors. Our GCSolutions team is currently working on these opportunities for short and long-term secondments and project-led initiatives. This has been a highly successful initiative, and we are now looking to grow this team with commercial lawyers seeking an exciting, alternative career path.

Unlike some flexible lawyer resourcing models, we give you the choice to work with us on a fixed-term employment basis or as a consultant . We offer a mix of remote and hybrid opportunities, are open to part-time or full-time lawyers, and support your work-life balance. Importantly, there are no fee targets or billable hours pressure. You will be an advocate for WBD and help us develop growth opportunities for our business.

Working with us on a fixed-term employment basis means we offer employed contracts within our business and a salary, reducing some risks for you. You will be fully integrated into WBD, gaining access to our rewards, benefits, development programmes, and support from our wider commercial team.

If you prefer to work on a consultancy or contractor basis , you will receive a competitive day rate, working on a non-exclusive agreement and choosing the high-quality secondments you\’d like to undertake.

What are we looking for?

We are particularly interested in hearing from lawyers with expertise in banking, insurance, general finance, energy, infrastructure, construction, company secretarial, or public sector experience.

You should have exposure to quality commercial work and be able to provide valuable advice and sector insight. You might currently work in an in-house legal team or at a large, regional, or city firm with secondment experience. It is essential that you understand the risk and financial reporting obligations associated with in-house work. As you will advise the business directly, reporting to GCs and senior management, strong stakeholder relationship skills are vital for success.

What makes it great to work here?

We strive to create an open culture that sets us apart from other firms. Our culture emphasizes a human approach, showing that we\’re more than just suits!

As signatories of the Mindful Business Charter, we value the health and wellbeing of our people. We offer various resources and initiatives to support this and are happy to discuss flexible, full-time, or part-time working arrangements.

Through our DEI initiatives, we foster an environment where differences are valued. Our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Group, led by a Board Sponsor, collaborates with colleague networks supporting race, ethnicity, cultural heritage, LGBTQ+, disabilities, families, and women\’s career development. We are continuously expanding our networks to better support everyone. Find out more about ED&I at WBD here . We encourage applicants from all social backgrounds, ethnicities, disabilities, gender identities, and sexual orientations.
