About the Role
Bleach isn\’t your average haircare brand – and this isn\’t your average finance role. Born out of creativity, bold thinking and disruptive spirit, Bleach London has grown from a rebellious East London salon to an international brand stocked in major retailers including Boots, Superdrug, Walmart, CVS and Amazon.
As we expand globally, we\’re building out a tight-knit, commercially-savvy finance function to match our ambition. That\’s where you come in.
This is your opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping how we operate financially as we scale – bringing your experience, ideas, and attention to detail to a brand with edge and purpose. You\’ll get variety, visibility and a tonne of scope to grow.
About Bleach
Bleach London is the brainchild of renowned fashion hairstylist Alex Brownsell, who pioneered the twenty-first-century home hair colour revolution. She turned bleaching and dyeing friends\’ hair at home into the world\’s first salon focused on colouring rather than cutting. Ten years, four locations and a ground-breaking product range later, Bleach London now ships an ever-evolving selection of home bleaches, toners, colour and care products all over the world.
All formulas are vegan and cruelty-free and come with expert instructions that allow consumers to bleach and dye like a professional in no time.
The company is a leading hair care provider, and is sold in retailers including Boots, Superdrug, The Hut Group, ASOS and Amazon, as well as Walmart, CVS and Kroger in the US.
What You\’ll Be Doing
You\’ll be a key player in this newly created role joining a small but mighty finance team, reporting into the Group Financial Controller and supporting the CFO. You\’ll own the monthly management accounts and have a strong influence over how we manage, interpret and act on our financial data.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing monthly consolidated management accounts with clear commentary and analysis
- Investigating variances against budget, forecast and prior periods
- Running monthly balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining clean ledgers
- Reconciling Gross Profit Margins and working closely with sales and ops to explain variances
- Managing accruals, prepayments and the fixed asset register
- Preparing key schedules and supporting the statutory audit process
- Collaborating across departments to support budgeting and cost control
- Taking ownership of UK and US tax compliance processes (with external advisors)
- Supporting AP and AR when needed – we\’re a hands-on team
- Getting stuck into ad-hoc projects including cost-saving reviews and business cases for new growth opportunities.
Experience That Fits This Role
We\’re after someone sharp, curious and confident working in a fast-moving, ever-evolving environment. You\’ll ideally have:
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualification (or be in the final stages)
- Around 3 years\’ post-graduate experience in a finance role, ideally within a group or multi-entity setup
- Excellent Excel skills (think pivot tables, not just SUM formulas)
- Experience working with SAP ByDesign or similar ERP systems (a bonus)
- Great attention to detail, but also able to zoom out and explain the bigger picture
- A collaborative, roll-up-your-sleeves mindset.
You don\’t need to know retail or beauty, but you do need to be excited about what we\’re building.
At Bleach we really value in-person time together – it helps us stay connected, creative and collaborative. We\’re proud of the space we\’ve built in our London office, so you\’ll need to be within easy reach and commit to being in at least 2-3 days a week.
Our Values
- We\’re CREDIBLE with over ten years of salon experience. We hold ourselves accountable.
- We\’re SPONTANEOUS and are adaptable to change and not afraid of the unexpected. We seek out challenges.
- We\’re BOLD and don\’t play it safe. We set trends rather than follow them. We are forward thinking.
- We\’re AUTHENTIC, honest, inclusive and value individuality. We give a SH*T.
- We\’re CREATIVE, ambitious, driven by fun, curiosity and world class creativity. Be creative every chance you get.
Don\’t tick every box? That\’s okay.
The diversity of our team reflects the diversity of our clients, partners and customers. We don\’t just welcome diverse communities – we celebrate them. We\’ve built an environment where everyone is supported and respected, and we want you to feel that too. We value fresh ideas, different ways of thinking, and new approaches – and we listen closely. We\’re committed to learning and improving as we grow.
What\’s in it for you?
At Bleach, you\’ll have the chance to see real impact in the work you do and your ideas will always be heard and valued.
- 25 days holiday per calendar year plus the usual public holidays.
- Enhanced Paid Parental Leave (industry leader).
- Private Medical Insurance that includes gym discounts, and lots of other perks.
- Pension contribution on qualifying earnings (not a perk, but still an important part of the package).
- A great space to work – our Central London office is more than just a desk. It\’s a buzzing hub for collaboration, creativity and fun, all just a short walk from several close by tube stations.
- Employee discount across our products
- Love hair dye? You\’ll have the chance to get involved in our new product development – our team is always on the lookout for willing models, so you might just find yourself getting a celeb-style makeover as part of the process.
