Allen & York are excited to be working with a leading global environmental consultancy, supporting clients and regulators across the world to mitigate environmental impacts.
Our client is looking for a passionate Principal Ornithological Consultant to join the Marine Science Ornithology team, providing expert advice and interpretation of ornithological data, including EIA and HRA to support development consents/applications.
You will work closely with senior directors and consultants across the consultancy, helping to influence and shape current work streams and expanding the current customer base across the UK, Europe and worldwide.
You\’ll need to hold a MSc in a relevant science discipline, together with a professional accreditation such as CIEEM, IEMA etc. With an established track record in the field of ornithology, seabird ecology or impact assessment you\’ll have gained extensive experience through a career in consultancy, research or working for NGOs or government. You\’ll have an enviable track record in project delivery, including large, high profile or complex projects and have considerable experience working with regulators and stakeholders. An excellent communicator, you\’ll be skilled in in producing high quality technical reports for a range of clients in the private and public sector. With managerial and leadership experience, you\’ll be acknowledged as a subject matter expert.
Experience of co-ordinating or undertaking ornithological surveys including survey leadership or design (terrestrial or marine) and expert witness experience would be advantageous to this role.
