Job Description

Our client is an established engineering company based in Hastings and Battle, providing a wide range of welding, fabrication and control systems to commercial and domestic clients. Our client is currently looking for a MIG Welder  to join their busy and friendly team on a temporary basis in Bodiam, East Sussex. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience within this industry, and be able to weld with MIG to a very high standard. As a MIG Welder you will be working predominately on structural work and adhering to technical drawings.

Due to the location of the vacancy, you must have a valid Driving Licence and your own transport.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualities:

  • Demonstrable experience using Metal Inert Gas (MIG)
  • Experience of working with mild steel
  • Solid understanding of mathematics
  • Understanding of measuring tools such as callipers, rules, feeler gauges, and pi tapes
  • Be able to read mechanical drawings
  • Be polite, informative and have a professional attitude towards customers and co-workers
  • Must be a multi-tasking team player
  • Valid Driving Licence and own transport are essential

Your duties as a MIG Welder will include:

  • Evaluate all drawings and ensure implementation according to welding specifications
  • Perform all welding work with the help of forming and cutting equipment
  • Provide assistance to production processes and mould various fixtures
  • Perform efficient welding of various metal objects
  • Analyse diagrams and specifications and cut all metal accordingly
  • Evaluate finished products and perform quality checks on products
  • To follow all processes and procedures contained within the companies ISO9001/BSEN1090 QMS

Salary :

  • Day Shift:  £14 – £15 per hour depending on experience
  • Evening Shift: £14 – £15 per hour depending on experience with an 18% uplift (£16.52 – £17.70 per hour)

Hours:

  • Day Shift: Monday – Friday, 6am – 2pm (40 hours per week)
  • Evening Shift: Monday – Friday, 1.45pm – 10pm (41.25 hours per week)
  • Temp to Perm
