Job Description
Our client is an established engineering company based in Hastings and Battle, providing a wide range of welding, fabrication and control systems to commercial and domestic clients. Our client is currently looking for a MIG Welder  to join their busy and friendly team on a temporary basis in Bodiam, East Sussex. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience within this industry, and be able to weld with MIG to a very high standard. As a MIG Welder you will be working predominately on structural work and adhering to technical drawings.
Due to the location of the vacancy, you must have a valid Driving Licence and your own transport.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualities:
- Demonstrable experience using Metal Inert Gas (MIG)
- Experience of working with mild steel
- Solid understanding of mathematics
- Understanding of measuring tools such as callipers, rules, feeler gauges, and pi tapes
- Be able to read mechanical drawings
- Be polite, informative and have a professional attitude towards customers and co-workers
- Must be a multi-tasking team player
- Valid Driving Licence and own transport are essential
Your duties as a MIG Welder will include:
- Evaluate all drawings and ensure implementation according to welding specifications
- Perform all welding work with the help of forming and cutting equipment
- Provide assistance to production processes and mould various fixtures
- Perform efficient welding of various metal objects
- Analyse diagrams and specifications and cut all metal accordingly
- Evaluate finished products and perform quality checks on products
- To follow all processes and procedures contained within the companies ISO9001/BSEN1090 QMS
Salary :
- Day Shift: £14 – £15 per hour depending on experience
- Evening Shift: £14 – £15 per hour depending on experience with an 18% uplift (£16.52 – £17.70 per hour)
Hours:
- Day Shift: Monday – Friday, 6am – 2pm (40 hours per week)
- Evening Shift: Monday – Friday, 1.45pm – 10pm (41.25 hours per week)
