This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and dynamic Videographer to join our fast-growing business at a pivotal moment for the brand.
Different Dog is a UK-based direct-to-consumer dog food brand that is revolutionising the way we feed our dogs. Founded in 2017 by husband-and-wife Charlie and Alex Thurstan, the B-corp company’s mission is to change dogs’ lives by providing them with fresh, nutritious, hand-cooked and high-quality meals made from human-grade ingredients, designed by nutritionists.
As we make significant investments in our brand to drive our growth ambitions, the Videographer will play a key role in expanding our online community and bringing our brand story to life with scroll-stopping content.
Reporting to the Creative Lead, the Videographer will be a highly creative individual brimming with fresh ideas and a passion for storytelling through film. They’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously while staying ahead of the latest social media trends. This role also involves working closely with dogs, so a genuine love for our four-legged friends is highly desirable!
Key responsibilities:
- End-to-end production: plan, script, shoot and edit engaging video content for multiple channels, including paid and organic social media and website. Ensuring content aligns with brand guidelines
- Focus on storytelling: bring our brand to life through compelling and imaginative storytelling, developing narratives that resonate with our audience and build connections
- Adaptable filming styles balance high-res, premium footage (camera) and native/UGC shots (phone), understanding when each style is most effective
- Ideation and innovation: challenge the status quo by bringing fresh, creative ideas to the table, while working with the team on concepts that build brand recognition and trust
- Spot and implement trends: stay on top of industry trends within the pet food market and beyond. Monitor creative excellence across channels and integrate insights into your own planning and execution
- Social Media expertise: produce engaging short-form videos for both paid and organic Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts, creating a mix of repurposed and original content
- Dynamic shooting techniques: experiment with innovative transitions and filming techniques to capture the audience’s attention. Push creative boundaries to produce content that stops users mid-scroll
- Multi-media mastery: enhance video production with animation, overlays and other visual elements to transform videos from good to incredible!

- Quick-thinking and adaptable, able to problem-solve on set (because even the best-trained dogs can be unpredictable!)
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a talent for building relationships and working collaboratively with key stakeholders across the business
- Highly organised and independent, capable of managing your own schedule while contributing effectively as part of the wider team
- Driver’s license preferred, given the location of our offices
Job Type: Full-time, Hybrid
This role offers a hybrid approach, giving you the best of both worlds: spend part of the week working from home editing and planning, and the rest of the time filming on location, or on-site at our kitchens in Shrewsbury and Telford, Shropshire. Here, you’ll capture the everyday magic behind the scenes (with plenty of opportunities to cuddle our office dogs)!
