Who You Are
You are an experienced and skilled Child Protection Advisor required for a contract of around 9 months. You hold a degree in Social Work or equivalent, with registration from Social Work England. With significant experience in child protection, safeguarding, and care planning, you possess strong analytical, decision-making, and communication skills. You are committed to promoting the welfare and voice of the child, able to manage competing priorities, and work efficiently under pressure. You also hold a valid driving license and DBS clearance.

The role involves integrating the responsibilities of safeguarding children at risk with oversight of care planning for children in care. As the Independent Reviewing Officer & Child Protection Advisor, you will chair Child Protection Conferences and Looked After Reviews, ensuring compliance with legislation and promoting active participation from children. You will provide expert guidance to social workers and multi-agency professionals, ensuring best practices in safeguarding and care planning. Key tasks include quality assurance, promoting the child's voice, facilitating multi-agency cooperation, and fostering professional development within teams. Additionally, you will contribute to service improvements, policy development, and transformation initiatives to enhance the outcomes for children and families.
