SEN Tutor/Mentor Southeast London £20 – £30 per hour Full time & Part time available Are you ready to embark on a fulfilling journey in SEN Tutoring? TeacherActive is currently seeking passionate SEN Tutors to support learners in the Southeast London area. The tuition provision is in-person as one-to-one sessions. These take place in the learner\’s home or a venue within the community. Your Role at TeacherActive: As a SEN Tutor you will play a crucial role in delivering a bespoke educational plan in an engaging and meaningful way. Your responsibilities will include: • Deliver KS1-KS3 Maths and English sessions with additional subjects according to your specialism • Ability to provide a creative learning approach; incorporating a variety of activities based on the learners\’ interests to aid learning engagement • Ability to offer support as a mentor with life skills and facilitate preparation for adulthood; college applications, employability. • Demonstrate confidence and knowledge supporting children with SEND • Adhere to consistent fixed termly timetables with scheduled lesson times You offer TeacherActive • Dedication to the overall academic development of the learners and support re-engagement in learning • Commitment to fixed termly timetables and ensuring lessons run as scheduled to provide a predictable and reliable provision which the learner deserves • Understand it hasn\’t always been an easy path travelled to this point for our learners, compassion and empathy are key • Minimum 2 years teaching or mentoring SEN learners including ASD/ASC, ADHD & SEMH within SEND schools, youth groups or private settings • Enhanced DBS on the DBS Update system or pay and get it processed by us (fee of £48.00) • Competent understanding of safeguarding and uphold mandatory training • Ability to travel to outlined location All applicants will be contacted to discuss suitability and then invited to register with TeacherActive. Registration involves an enhanced DBS check, ID checks and will require you to supply good professional references. We pride ourselves on excellent service.
