About the role
- Play a significant role to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of colleagues and others
- Working safely within the team, aware of hazards within your work area, wider site and operating procedures and preventing incidents from occurring
- Responsible for the safe movement of spirit in casks within an established set of process procedures, either manually or by using site machinery.
- Required to support a range of activities including filling, warehousing, disgorging (emptying spirit from casks) and empty cask handling, to ensure targets are met relating to Health and Safety, quality, service and cost.
- There may be occasions when extended hours working will be required, particularly during peak periods.
- Both team and lone person working that require effective decision-making and problem-solving skills as well as an ability to use initiative to adapt pre-set work plans.
- Action must always be taken that ensures full compliance with all warehousing Health & Safety, Customs & Excise and environmental constraints.
